Markham Carnival 2020

On behalf of the Markham Wesley Centre (MWC), we are writing to invite you to support for our 10th Annual Carnival and Blessing Walk to be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020. This fundraising event aims to raise much needed funds, and in particular funds for operating and developing new programs for all members of our communities.

The theme of our fundraising event this year is "Embracing The Future"- to celebrate friendship among all ethnic groups.

We are located at 22 Esna Park Drive in Markham and is 46,000 square feet in size. The MWC was established to serve the residents of the culturally diverse communities of Markham and Richmond Hill in the York Region. Our core mission is to promote cultural harmony and enhance the overall well-being of the surrounding communities and to assist new immigrants in adapting to new lives in Canada. We hope that by providing these communities with various social, recreational and physical activities, we will help to promote the physical and mental health of each individual living within them.

Since its opening in December 2014, the MWC has grown to about 3,000 registered members, with an average of 300 members participating in different activities at the Centre each day. We are recently expanded and are serving community users with modern auditorium, including a large and sophisticated electronic screen system, excellent acoustics and more than 700 theatre-grade seats.  This facility will also contribute to the MWC’s ability to serve its mission.

Your donation will make a big difference and will be very important in the development of the community, senior and children and youth activities. With your support and participation, we are sure we will be able to improve both the quality and quantity of these services.

For further information, please contact our event coordinator Debby Yip at 905-940-5234 ext 221.

Yours respectfully,
